We’ve all been there.
We’ve encountered cases that make rack our brains
and wish that we had just a little bit of guidance.
You’re not alone. Let us help.
What Exactly is a Supervision Session?
Simply put, it’s a one-on-one session where a therapist may consult another therapist about a client’s case. It could be about difficulties in conducting a comprehensive analysis, maneuvering treatments, et cetera. We recognize that being a psychologist is a lonely profession where it’s difficult to ask for guidance, or merely to exchange point of views when you feel like you’re stuck, due to confidentiality limits. This is the safe space to do exactly that, since confidentiality agreements still allow discussing a case under the purpose of supervision.
Why Do I Rarely Hear About This?
To be fair, it is not quite common in Indonesia yet. Right now, the number of therapists in Indonesia is still very low compared to the number of clients who need treatment. There is a huge gap and in many institutions the wait times can be so long. Thus, most services are oriented to clients from the general population who need immediate and urgent mental health aid, instead of also including therapists as clients. This is an unfortunate situation, considering the fact that we, therapists, are also human beings who occasionally need some extra support, especially in handling difficult cases!
What Do I Need to Prepare?
- Your case
- Assessment results
- Any additional relevant data that may help.
That’s about it! If you book a face-to-face session, you can either send us the digital files before your appointment or bring us the hard copy (in the case of projective assessments, we strongly recommend bringing the hard copy). If you book an online session, just send us the digital files.
All you need to do to begin is schedule your supervision session with us.
